ANNEVIDA BRIDES: Ms. Mari Mecado - Juanengo

Meet the coolest bride ever!(yes some of them still exist hahahah)

Let me tell you one thing…if you happen to work with brides like moi…last thing that you want to encounter is a certified bridezilla..she won't only test your patience , she can also turn you into a nervous wreck in no time!

That's why I can't help but share with you this wonderful bride of mine - Ms. Marie.

Around 9:00am (ON HER WEDDING DAY ..that is!) , while lounging around Century Park's lobby..I saw this girl walking alongside the hotel's facade….looks like Ms. Marie..but what on earth is she doing outside looking like its just another ordinary day for her :)) She should be calling me at that very minute - telling me how oily her skin can get and that it should last until the event ends..and that she thinks pink eyeshadow should be better to match her pink bouquet blah blah blah--that sort of stuffs.

But no, there she goes with a cup of coffee( I think ? ) in her hand sipping like she has all the time in the world to stop and smell the roses :))

When she saw me waiting for her..she was quite surprised I was early, we went up to her room and even asked me if she could have her first smoke before we begin :)) and of course I said ok..and when I entered her room ..there was no one there but her wedding paraphernalias…and of course a body form with her fab wedding gown on...
I asked her..where are the others? "Oh its just me they'll arrive later when I'm done with the preparation" ..she said.

What? That is indeed sooo new to me :)) I always work with brides ..along with the whole entourage (as in FULL entourage) looking like there's a feast in the room or some sort of a family reunion, and before the bride could even leave for church she is already stressed out.

Now, what happens when you have a very cool bride to work with? Someone who entrust you with the whole beautification process..someone who doesn't have to harass you and teach you how to do things their way? …the result is---

a beautiful , stress-free looking bride all ready to do the most romantic walk of her life .

there she goes...with her pretty bouquet of orange tulips

Ms. Mari along with my makeups ! nice shot ei?

How about you? Are you a "bridezilla" in the making?
Have a stress-free Tuesday everyone!!

GET THE LOOK: Vintage Bridesmaid

Just recently, I had a wedding gig at Vivire Alabang. Christine's (the bride) sister opted for a vintage inspired look. I was excited to give he a classic look and I'm glad she's really "game" for it!
Thanks to Maricel , my ever-reliable hairstylist for completing the look!

Eyes:
Since the vintage era is more on the heavy eyeliner and red lips, had to use just a minimal amount of shadow for the eyes. I used just one wash of color to the entire eyelid:
NARS Isolde from 2008 Nars fall collection, the lighter shade was used for hi lite applied at the browbone.

EYELINER:
--A good liquid jet black liner is important. Choose a reliable liquid liner that will help you do the cats eye precisely.
--Black pencil eyeliner for the lower lashes.

Cheeks:
1. Hoolabaloo by MAC
2. Stila face luminizer for cheek-hiliter

Lips:
1. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Certainly Red

The Sweet Bride

My aim was to give the bride the natural blush look so I kept they eye color minimal...just a wash of pink and hililtes to open up the eyes ..notice the eyeliner i didnt made a full line..i used a yellowish liner from the inner corner to the center for softer, clearer and fresher look. Part of our training in makeup school is to make sure that the face is really clean before putting anything on the skin, if you think its inconvenient for you to have your model's face washed, be sure to atleast bring face wipes with you (I reccomend: Femme Fresh makeup remover wipes - you can get it at any watsons outlet)

PRIMER FACE:
MAC PREP + PRIME SKIN An ultra-fluid lotion formulated with special-effect silicones. Calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. Improves the laydown and application of foundation or powder LIPS: Burts Beeswax - my clients ohhh so love this lip conditioner because of its minty flavor..plus doesn't give that sticky feel on the lips !(you can get this from beauty bar..they always run out of stock though..)

EYE:
PREP + PRIME EYES A light textured cream to wear on the eyes as an undercoat to eye makeup. Primes the lids. Smooths textures, neutralizes lid colour. Use under eye shadow, pigments, paints and concealers.

FACE:
MAC Stuido Fix Fluid MAC Blot POwder (loose) used after concealing) MAC Select Sheer MAC mineralize Lightest shade for hi lite. MAC Concealer Palette - for unwanted marks/undereye circles. BENEFIT Ms. Popularity - to hi lite cheeks and collarbones.

EYES & BROWS: MAC eyeshadow n shroomfor base MAC eyeshadow n Sushi MAC Eyebrow palette Makeup 4Ever Black eyeliner MAC eyeshadow in Frost - used as eye liner. LIPS: Bobbi Brown in Rouge MAC Lip Liner in Spice MAC Tinted Lip Glass in Florabundance.

CHEEKS:
MAC Blush in Pink Swoon BENEFIT MS. Popularity - for hilite.
